In 1979, he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after N. Narimanov (Baku) with a degree in medicine.
After completing his internship, he worked as a neurosurgeon at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Donetsk State Medical Institute, then at the N.I. Pirogov State Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Moscow.
From 1988 to the present, he has been working in the 9th department of the FSAU "NMIC of Neurosurgery named after Academician N.N. Burdenko of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as a senior researcher and neurosurgeon. The total work experience is 43 years, at the N.N. Burdenko Neurosurgery Research Center – 35 years.
Since 1999, he has been working part-time at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation at the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics of the Faculty of Medicine, currently as a professor.
In 1996, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic "Traumatic brain injury accompanied by damage to the optic nerve."
In 2017, he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: "Surgical treatment of cranio-orbitofacial injury".
He has valid certificates of neurosurgeon, neurologist, maxillofacial surgeon and plastic surgeon.
Winner of the 2006 Russian Government Prize in Science and Technology for 2006
Scientific work is the management of three defended 3 PhD theses. 165 scientific papers have been published (155 in the domestic press, 10 in the foreign press). Patents for 2 inventions have been obtained.
